On Wednesday, Dr. Matt Fowler stopped by for a discussion about the Art of Conversation. Dr. Fowler used alliteration to run through 7 tips on how to be a more effective conversationalist, and a more well-rounded, dependable member of a team. One of the finer points included "Be Interested." In other words, use your curiosity to draw out information from those with whom you're speaking. "The interrogative is more powerful than the declarative," he explained, and he challenged the students to try to control the conversation by asking questions, rather than being a passive participant in it. Many thanks to Dr. Fowler for making time to speak to the CEO team and share his insights this morning!
